- Q) Who's eligible?
- Anyone over the age of 13 who is a resident of Canada.
- Q) When does the competition end?
- Competition entries must be in by 11:59:59 PM (ET) on Wednesday March 7, 2011.
- Q) How do I enter?
- All you need to do is submit a video or written entry outlining who you want to talk to and why. In these FAQs, be sure to read “What kind of video can I submit?" for technical information and "My submission was rejected. Why?" for important copyright information.
- Q) How do I win?
- Entries will be judged based on number of votes (40% weight) and creativity as decided upon by our jury (60% weight). You can find out more about that in the rules and regulations.
- Q) How do I vote?
- You vote by registering on the site and then voting on your favourite entry and favourite charity. You can vote once a day for each.
- Q) Does my vote on Facebook count?
- Yes. So if you vote on Facebook and then try to vote again on site on the same day, it won't work.
- Q) Why do I have to sign in?
- People who vote on videos are eligible to win weekly prizes so if you are selected, we need to know who you are in order for you to your prize. You want your prize, don't you?
- Q) What happens if I'm in the top 5 in votes at the end of the competition?
- If you're in the top 5 when the √competition closes you've got a better chance of winning – but don't call up your friends to tell them you've won just quite yet – votes are only a portion of the selection process; the judges are also considering creativity.
- Q) Will I really get to talk to any personality I want?
- Wind Mobile understands the power of conversation and is going to do everything in its power to make these conversations happen. There are of course some caveats like the person has to be living and they must be accessible – as in not in jail, hiding in the middle of the desert, or filming a movie in Cambodia – but otherwise, yes.
- Q) What kind of video can I submit?
- A creative one. A compelling one. One with a maximum file size of 500MB. One formatted as either: .avi, .wav, .mov, .dv, .3gp. Most definitely one that doesn't break any of the five cardinal rules, listed in the next question.
- Q) My submission was rejected. Why?
- There are 5 things for you to look out for when you submit an entry. If you violate any of these rules your entry will not be accepted. But don't worry – you've still got tons of room to make something amazing.
Avoid:
- Copyright infringement. Keep away from copyrighted video, photos, or anything else. Don't send a video of you chatting with a celebrity poster with their love ballad playing in the background. Also, make sure you are not wearing a branded t-shirt.
- Invalid content. The video you submit must be related to this competition. Is it a video of your dog scuba diving? Awesome. But post it somewhere else.
- Inappropriate content. Don't get offensive or otherwise inappropriate. Keep it mom-friendly.
- Incompatible files. Upload the right type of file. If it doesn't work on our end, like if the sound isn't working, we can't use it.
- Duplication. Only upload your file once. The same file multiple times doesn't mean extra chances to win.
- Q) How can I make my video go viral?
- Going viral is a matter of skill, luck, and great content. But first you've gotta be seen – check out our tips for some ideas we've put together on that.
- Q) Are you tracking my video votes and views on the site in real time?
- Yes. Once your entry is on the site you'll be able to see your votes in real time.
- Q) Can I still win prizes if I don't submit an entry?
- Absolutely. By voting and participating on the site you become eligible to win some awesome prizes, awarded weekly while the competition is running.
